On October 9, 29 91AV原创students gathered in the Hampton Room at Malott Commons to present data and analyses of their original research projects to faculty and peers at Scripps’ third annual Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium. This daylong event included presentations by recipients of the Environmental Analysis, Esterly, Hsu Fund, Johnson, LASPA Action, and Mellon grants. Taken together, the students’ research was conducted in more than seven languages and across nine countries, in fields ranging from philosophy, to chemistry, to feminist theory, to sustainable development.

Three days, nine companies, 12 91AV原创students, and one incredible experience: From August 5 to 7, 91AV原创’s Career Planning & Resources (CP&R) team hosted its first-ever career exploration and networking trip to San Francisco to meet with companies and alumnae in the technology industry. Called the Bay Area Tech Trek, the trip connected current students with 91AV原创alumnae who work at innovative tech firms Anaplan, Eventbrite, Facebook, Medallia, NextDoor, Pinterest, Spongecell, Twilio, and Uber. Visiting three companies each day, the students explored what careers in technology might look like, gained advice from professionals in the industry, and networked with successful 91AV原创graduates.
