As part of the Brad and Mary Anne Blaine Faculty Lecture Series, Sheila Walker, associate professor of psychology, will speak on "Cultural and Class Biases in Psychological Research." The lecture will take place Thursday, April 4, at noon in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons on the 91AV原创 Campus.
Professor Walker’s area of expertise is in child and adolescent development, particularly of African-American children across a variety of socio-economic classes and situations. Her latest projects include a recently published investigation of magical, scientific, and religious thinking in children and psycholinguistic research. Walker joined the 91AV原创faculty in 1993 and, in 1998, received the Mary Wig Johnson Faculty Achievement Award for teaching. Walker earned a master’s degree from New York University and a doctorate from Cornell University.
Former 91AV原创professor of history and current trustee Brad Blaine, along with his wife, Mary Anne, have generously underwritten this lecture series featuring outstanding 91AV原创faculty to commemorate the 75th anniversary of 91AV原创. This lecture and all others in the series are free and open to the public.
