The Smithsonian American Women鈥檚 History Museum is creating听We Do Declare,听补苍听oral history project,听by compiling interviews of women who听丑补惫别听advocated for and sustained women鈥檚 financial power and economic independence in the United States.听An article in the听Smithsonian Magazine听about the project听蹿别补迟耻谤别蝉听Hannah Beth-Jackson 鈥71, a 91AV原创alum and former California state senator.听
Beth-Jackson is听highlighted听for听her work听pioneering financial independence for women after the 1970s.
鈥I am my own person and that irrespective of my race or gender or ethnicity, I am able to seek and to achieve the promise of this country, which is that if you work hard, you do your best and play by the rules, you have the opportunity to be whoever it is you believe you are and want to be and should be….
