Tia Blassingame – Art

Tia Blassingame was a guest Curator for the exhibition, National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC April 11 to August 15, 2027. The exhibition coincides with the 20th anniversary of the museum’s Women To Watch series and with the museum’s 40th anniversary. She contributed the foreword for the Georgia Women To Watch: A Book Arts Revolution exhibition catalogue, Atlanta Contemporary, Atlanta, GA Feb 1-May 17, 2026.

Professor Blassingame was a visiting artist Printmaking department at California State University, Northridge, California, April 2026. She gave an artist’s talk and conducted studio visits with undergraduate and graduate Printmaking students.

She was invited as the Sterling Stuckey Lecturer, History department, University of California, Riverside, California, May 2026.

Her Black: A Handbook is featured in the Who Is America at 250? Artist Books on the State of Democracy travelling exhibition.

Her White: A Handbook artist’s book was acquired by the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Professor Blassingame placed Book/Print Artist/Scholar of Color Collective print portfolios at the following institutions: Los Angeles Public Library, Harvard University, Ohio University, Rijksmuseum, School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, Swarthmore College, University of Delaware, University of Irvine, University of Miami, University of Virginia, Yale University.
